The 2025 Touch Grass Challenge is designed for students who want to balance their academic hustle with mental wellness this summer! As an extension of our commitment to helping students win scholarships AND maintain their sanity, this challenge goes beyond just going outside—it’s about developing the self-care habits you need to thrive during scholarship season. Just like winning scholarships is about strategy, maintaining your mental health starts with intentional breaks. Join us this summer and touch some grass! 🌿

Q: What is the Touch Grass Challenge?
A: The Touch Grass Challenge is a summer outdoor wellness challenge for members of The Scholarship Collective LLC. It encourages students to spend time outdoors and reflect on how this supports their academic and scholarship goals.
Q: Who can participate?
A: Only active members of The Scholarship Essay Academy or Scholarships Near Me Plus can participate. You must be at least 13 years old and maintain active membership through August 15, 2025.

Q: Can I submit multiple entries?
A: No, only one entry per participant is allowed.

Q: How are entries judged?
A: Entries are scored on a 100-point scale:
- Photo Quality & Authenticity (50 points)
- Reflection Insight & Connection (50 points)

Q: When will winners be announced?
A: Winners will be announced around August 15, 2025, via email, social media, and the Membership portal.

Q: Can TSC use my photo for marketing?
A: Yes, by submitting your photo, you grant TSC permission to use it on social media, websites, newsletters, and other promotional materials. You retain ownership but give TSC a license to use it indefinitely for promotional purposes.

Q: What if I don’t want my photo used for marketing?
A: If you don’t agree to the photo usage terms, please don’t participate in the challenge.

Q: When does the challenge run?
A: The challenge runs from July 2, 2025, at 12:00 AM EST through August 2, 2025, at 11:59 PM EST.
Q: How do I enter the challenge?
A: It’s simple! Just:
- Snap a photo of yourself enjoying the outdoors this summer
- Write a 2-3 sentence reflection on how this outdoor time supports your academic/scholarship goals
- Submit both through the Membership portal by August 2, 2025
Q: What should my photo show?
A: Any authentic outdoor activity – hiking, reading in a park, studying outside, gardening, playing sports, or simply relaxing in nature. Professional photography skills aren’t required; authenticity matters more than perfection.
Q: What are the prizes?
A: First Place: $250, Second Place: $150, Third Place: $100
Q: How will I receive my prize?
A: Prizes are distributed via your specified payment method and are non-transferable. You’re responsible for any taxes or fees.
Q: Will I get credit when my photo is used?
A: TSC will make reasonable efforts to credit you, but credit may not always be feasible across all platforms.
